Default Vampire

I'm just starting out in Guild Wars (having come from playing World of Warcraft for few years) and I like the idea of being a vampire (ie. Blood Necro).

Is there any differences between N/Me and Me/N besides Soul Reaping vs Fast Casting?

What is better between Soul Reaping and Fast Casting for blood necro for PvE?

Soul Reaping is amazing. You don't need very many energy management skills with a high enough soul reaping. Not only that but if you want to use Blood Magic runes you'll HAVE to be N/Me

I say Soul Reaping is godly in PvE, things are going to die (your team or your enemy) and you are going to get energy no matter what. Necros are also more flexable and more wanted in PvE teams.

If you ever get bored of playing blood necro, you can go MM or SS, both really fun builds when you get started.

If you want to specialize in blood magic skills, be a Necro. You can boost your blood magic attribute with runes. Can't do that as a Mesmer.

It is a mistake, IMHO, to make your character's skills focus on secondary profession skills. I've seen Elementalists try to play the Monk - DOES NOT WORK!!! I've seen Mesmers try to Nuke - not very pretty.

Au contraire. When my monk FINALLY beat DNKP, it was because both of the ele nukers also invested heavily in healing and prot. They couldn't have held the team up on their own, that I agree with, but they gave our team the extra boost we needed.

Also one of my guild officers plays a fast-casting nuker in PvP - things asplode quite nicely, and by things I mean people.

If you want to deal more dmg in blood then you should go N/Me so you can put on the runes and get a maximum blood magic lvl of 16(or use awaken the blood to get to 18). As a Me/N would only get 14 (or use AtB to get to 16)

Soul Reaping + Signet of Lost Souls = free healing + energy

Most Players agree that fast casting is almost useless in PvE. you simply dont need to avoid interruption.
